So, in honor of 311 Day, we decided to dive into their discography, to figure out what's worth revisiting and what you should feel justified in avoiding.Ĭritics and new fans alike initially hated Transistor for its noodly ambition and failure to keep the party going after "Down" lit up the radio, but this sprawling, 64-minute epic has revealed itself over time to be 311's OK Computer. But any artist with that much staying power shouldn't be shrugged off so easily. 4.Music snobs long ago dismissed 311 as a silly frat phenomenon. The entire album is very accessible to just about anyone, even if you are not a punk fan. Also, works well just as background music to a get together. A lot of care appears to have been taken to make all of the songs transition well into each other. Stealing Happy Hours: Laid back, and lounge-y, A nice way to end the album.Īll in all, this album is worth sitting down to and listening from one end to the other.Strangers:Continuing the funk trend, this is a pleasant, laid back track.Starshines:Funky song with sleigh bells making for an interesting sound, with a couple of timing transitions thrown in for good measure.I would write more, but I’m too busy listening to it.
